Hedreen

Project:
Hedreen Beach Guest House and Bunkhouse.

Project Description:
2,000 sq. ft. beach house remodel.

Programmatic Issues:
Design a guest house for growing family of children and grandchildren to provide casual entertaining on beachfront, with flexible room usage for a variety of guest situations within confines of existing footprint and garage (to be turned into bunkhouse). The house was originally built by the client for their own use in the 1970's, but was subsequently replaced by a new house on another area of the site. It was important that the spaces were very light and airy and could be used without fear of ruining furniture or spaces. The interiors and exteriors of the houses were used equally in the summer months, with boardwalks and stone patios on the outside to create strong circulation paths and patios for entertainment.
