Sybase

The concept of using "super-graphics," in the same way an airport runway or a freeway uses them was developed, to communicate direction quickly. This design concept was coined "fast architecture." Sybase, an innovative company, wanted a space that related to the previous space, an "atrium" building, but that had its own identity. The atrium building, which was almost 200,000 sq. ft. had similar urban design issues, as it too was on one floor, which presented challenges to circulating users through it efficiently. Innovation, urban planning, efficiency, flexibility and budget were all strong factors in the developed design concept.

Design Solution:
The first part of the solution was to define a clear, logical and efficient floor plan. The placement of the main entrance had to have a direct relationship with the previous Sybase "atrium" facility across the common parking lot, which resulted in the main entrance being off center of the "b-trium" building.
